Διεθνής έκθεση ExLibris της Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” από την Ρούσε, Βουλγαρία

Η Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” της Ρούσε - μία από τις παλαιότερες βιβλιοθήκες της Βουλαγαρίας με πάνω από 138 χρόνια ιστορίας - παρουσιάζει μία έκθεση αφιερωμένη στην τέχνη των ExLibris, των διακοσμητικών αναγνωριστικών που δήλωναν παλαιότερα τον ιδιοκτήτη ενός βιβλιόυ.

Η Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” διοργανώνει από το 2005 τον Διεθνή Διαγωνισμό ExLibris, μία πρωτοβουλία που τιμά τα μικρά αυτά διακριτικά που συμβολίζουν τη σχέση μεταξύ ενός βιβλίου με τον κάτοχό του αλλά και με την πολιτιστική ιστορία. Μέσα από αυτό το διαγωνισμό, οι καλλιτέχνες μετατρέπουν τις ιδέες τους, τις πολιτισμικές αναφορές τους και τους προσωπικούς τους στόχους σε μικρά γραφικά έργα τέχνης που συνδέουν την λογοτεχνία, την τέχνη και την ανθρώπινη ταυτότητα. 

Με τα χρόνια ο διαγωνισμός έχει αναδειχθεί σε ένα σημαντικό παγκόσμιο γεγονός. Πάνω από 2,300 καλλιτέχνες από 63 χώρες της Ευρώπης, της Ασίας, της Αυστραλίας και της Αμερικής έχουν συμμετέχει με έργα τους. Σήμερα η Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” έχει στη κατοχή της πάνω από 6,700 πρωτότυπα ExLibris, την μεγαλύτερη συλλογή του είδους της στην νοτιοανατολική Ευρώπη. 

Η εκθέση που θα φιλοξενηθεί την Πέμπτη 12 Μαρτίου στη Μουσική Βιβλιοθήκη «Λίλιαν Βουδούρη» περιέχει μία επιλογή βραβευμένων έργων από την μεγάλη αυτή συλλογή με καλλιτέχνες από τη Βουλγαρία αλλά και από όλο τον κόσμο.

Οι επισκέπτες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να δούνε πέρα από τα φυσικά έργα, και την μορφή τους μέσα από τεχνολογία VR που θα τους επιτρέψει να εξερευνήσουν λεπτομέριες των έργων σε ένα περιβάλλον όπου η τέχνη, η πολιτιστική κληρονομία και η τεχνολογία γίνονται ένα.

Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” – Ruse

The Regional Library “Lyuben Karavelov” in Ruse, Bulgaria – one of the oldest libraries in the country with more than 138 years of history – presents an exhibition dedicated to the art of the ExLibris.

Since 2005 the library has organized the International ExLibris Competition, an initiative that celebrates the miniature graphic form of the ex libris as a symbol of the relationship between the book, the reader and cultural memory. Through this competition artists transform their ideas, cultural references and personal visions into small-format graphic works that connect literature, art and identity. 

Over the years the competition has developed into an important international forum for graphic artists. More than 2,300 artists from 63 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America have participated. The Regional Library in Ruse preserves today over 6,700 original ExLibris works, forming the largest collection of its kind in Southeast Europe. 

The exhibition opening on 12 March presents a selection from this remarkable collection, including works by Bulgarian and international artists as well as several award-winning pieces.

As part of the exhibition programme, visitors will also have the opportunity to experience a VR exhibition of ExLibris artworks, allowing them to explore the miniature graphic works in an immersive digital environment and discover the richness of the collection in a new and innovative way.
