Two educational programs for schools will be presented in the 2024-2025 season, starting in October at the Music Library of the Athens Concert Hall. This year’s program includes the new educational program Bravo Maestro! and the popular musical program I Hear the Picture, I See the Music, now in its second year.
The programs are once again hosted in the new MusiXLAB technology space.
FOR STUDENTS FROM KINDERGARTEN TO 3RD GRADE
Bravo Maestro!
Join our orchestra!
So much can happen during a concert! Will the violins, percussion, and horns manage to play music now that it’s starting to rain? Will our soprano sing well today, even with a sore throat? Today’s concert is in the garden, and the musicians are surrounded by mosquitoes!
Luckily, there’s always a good maestro to bring harmony, a “bravo maestro,” or “un bravo maestro.” Do you hear the audience cheering? “Bravo, orchestra! Bravo, maestro!”
Children first enjoy a video projection specially designed to introduce them to the symphony orchestra. Then, with gentle guidance, they take on the roles of musicians, participating in a small-scale, virtual orchestra using life-sized, cardboard musical instruments. Through humorous scenarios, students learn the basics of collaboration, creativity, knowledge, and, of course, enjoyment.

FOR 4TH, 5TH, AND 6TH GRADE STUDENTS
I Hear the Picture, I See the Music
What sounds do paintings make? What images come to mind when we listen to music?
In its second year, this program combines visual arts with music through theatrical and sensory activities.
After learning through presentations and specially designed audiovisual materials, students transform themselves into works of art. They dramatize scenes inspired by different artistic periods in art history, with music as a focal theme.
The goal of this program is to develop students’ synthetic thinking and perception of art through a collaborative, creative, and fun experience.
